Hello everyone!
So today I am going to talk about the HeForShe!
For those of you who are completely unaware of it , it is
HeForShe is a solidarity campaign for gender equality initiated by UN Women. Its goal is to engage men and boys as agents of change for the achievement of gender equality and women’s rights, by encouraging them to take action against inequalities faced by women and girls Grounded in the idea that gender equality is an issue that affects all people—socially, economically and politically—it seeks to actively involve men and boys in a movement that was originally conceived as “a struggle for women by women”. Some noticed the contradiction of a campaign for gender equality which only takes action against inequalities faced by women and girls, ignoring problems affecting men and boys. Wikipedia
So gender equality has always been an issue for sure. And I really want Pakistan yo move a bit ahead in the aspect of gender equality. This campaign is such a good one to raise voice for gender equality and I must say that a little step is a lot. So I came to know about this campaign due to Emma Watson, I adore her, she is the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. She launched this campaign in September '14. In her speach she addressed the fact that 'feminism has become an unpopuler word' ! I am a Feminist are you?
I am addressing it pretty late I know but quite recently they launched the website for HeForShe. We can play our part by simply making a commitment within seconds on http://www.heforshe.org/en !
That is it. The rest of the work is there! Be a feminist!! It is such a good way to vote for the part in which YOU think we lack gender equality like education, health, education, violence etc!
And your commitment can really make a difference!
Do it!
I want! Do you?

Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong. It is time that we all perceive gender on a spectrum, instead of two sets of opposing ideals. If we stop defining each other by what we are not, and start defining ourselves by who we are, we can all be freer, and this is what HeForShe is about. It’s about freedom. - Emma Watson
